It's been fun sharing more of the cabin with you. There has been a lot of life rearranging to make it possible for me to stay up here in the mountains while the renovations are going on. Being here has given me the chance to snap some pics and share them. Today I wanted to show you my new find and some fall touches I've added here in the cabin.
While in Asheville recently, picking up supplies for the renovation, my GPS had me on track to reach my destination and then I passed it. I went right by a cute antique shop, so I quickly turned my car around, found a parking spot, turned off my GPS, and happily went inside. I haven't strolled through a shop like this in such a long time, so I took my time and enjoyed every second of it! About halfway through I saw this ironstone tureen, there was no lid, but I liked her just the same and for very little $ she was mine. The small leaf dish and primitive bird are pulled together for a little fall vignette.
Inside the tureen were a few foam balls wrapped in strips of ticking fabric which in the end worked out perfectly as a filler. I already had some pinecones gathered from outdoors, so I went to Michael's and picked up a few fall sprigs, placed them in the tureen on top of the ticking balls...and voila! Easy-peasy fall decor!
Ellie-Mae kept hopping up on the furniture to be in the pictures...so here she is!
Back to the fall decor, I was excited to find these pinecones and pumpkins in less vibrant colors. I like the muted colors, plain and simple, a little something different. Finally, sprigs of acorns and all is finished out with real pinecones gathered from outdoors.
I adore this primitive folk-art bird but don't ask me what kind it is...I have no idea. I just fell in love with it.
Well look who's sitting in the the side chair.
And in the evenings with the fragrance of pumpkin spice...I do love the fall season!
My new find and little bit of fall here in the cabin. I have a few more things to pull together and will share that soon.
Have you started your fall decorating?
Love your posts! Hope you keep them coming!
ReplyDeleteYes, I did what little I plan to do for fall last week prior to guests arriving. I love the little tureen and how all of your tabletop items fit together to bring that just-right touch of fall. I can't wait to see more of the cabin evolution. And, Miss Ellie Mae is adorable.
ReplyDeleteCindy I love the tureen and I don't worry if they have no lids either. If they're aged and crazed even better for me too.
ReplyDeleteI love the bird too even if we don't know what it is, ha. Like the little log.
My pups try to get in photos too and when I get ready to snap they run away. It's funny.
Enjoy your day
Cindy
