When I shared about early mornings in the kitchen and making coffee by the light of yummy scented candles and the soft flickering shadows from my antique hurricane, there was something I didn't mention.
Thistle.
Nestled between the candle and hurricane...it most likely went unnoticed.
This pretty addition to a flower arrangement caught my eye. The days passed and I watched as each flower in the arrangement slowly drop its petals or turned brown and wilted, but the thistle stayed the same. It remained just as pretty in the end as it had been in the beginning. So I saved it.
Placed in a mason jar, paired with an antique wooden biscuit cutter and placed in the kitchen window.
Sometimes it's the simplest things that can be the most beautiful.

So pretty!
ReplyDeleteMorning Cindy....
ReplyDeleteI agree sometimes beauty is truly in the simple things and sometimes has a sweet message.
Your Thistle is like God..... it's the same yesterday today and tomorrow.
Have a good weekend and labor day hon,

You are so right. The simplest things are pretty. Love this.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your long weekend
Cindy
It really is the simple things that make me smile. A spot of sunlight on the kitchen counter, a cloud shaped like angel wings--all those sweet things that don't cost a cent. I remember all the thistles that grew in the country roadside when I was a kid and even then I saw a simple beauty in them.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful Labor Day weekend. xo Diana
