Thursday Home Tour ~ It Could Be Yours

Oh my goodness do I have a great cottage to share with you!  Today's home tour is a charming fixer-upper with a price can't be beat!

This little cottage was built in the early 1900's and is located in the historic district of town.  It needs a lot of TLC but the bones are amazing.  Just look at the adorable exterior, the trim work is amazing.

There are hardwood floors, spacious rooms, built-ins, two porches, and it sits beautifully on a shaded corner lot in a cozy small town.

Some of the features that made my heart go pitter-patter are the antique light fixture, fireplace mantel high ceilings, and the door hardware.

There are so many charming elements in this disheveled room.  The enamel top table is similar to the one my Granny had which is currently in my mother's kitchen.  The hurricane lamp with wall bracket still located by the front window, the adorable scalloped edge shelf, and the kerchief window curtain hanging to one side are quaint.  I can imagine this room all pulled together; delightful and cozy!

The rooms are bright and spacious with many large windows which are always a plus and the archway adds a nice architectural element.

Though it may have been a good while back, someone definitely invested a lot of time and attention into this room.  Though not my style, I would like to have seen it when decorated.  I really like the antique light fixture.

There is a back porch and spacious yard with plenty of large trees adding even more character to this charming cottage.

This 4 bedroom and 2 bath historic cottage is located at 411 E. Wilson Street in Tarboro, North Carolina and can be yours for only $35,000.  Can you believe that price...that's a steal!

What do you think, could you live here?  This would be such a fun fixer-upper and I can only imagine how amazing it could be with just a little TLC.

  1. Oh- Don't you love it and can't you just see it all fixed up? Two of those light fixtures are the same ones we had in a historical house that we restored and are considered Colonial Revival. Those were HEAVY brass lamps that I took down and polished. I would love to get my hands on this place....wish it was not so far away!! xo Diana
