I have always enjoyed touring homes. Whether the home of a friend, a builder's home tour, a home listed for sale, or any home for that matter...there are so many ideas to glean and well...it's just fun to dream!
This week's beauty takes us to Savannah, Georgia. This grand home was built in 1920 and has 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms and 3,010 square feet. It is located on an oversized lot in the heart of Savannah's Victorian District.
The large front porch offers a place to swing as well as additional dining space.
Step inside to the foyer to a gracious living space with a beautiful fireplace and built-ins.
This sitting room is just off the foyer. Notice the original fireplace and the pocket doors with original hardware and the hardwood flooring is lighter in some rooms than others which is often the case in a home of this age.
The dining room has darker wood than the other rooms in the wainscoting, window trim, on the fireplace surround and the floors have a darker stain too.
And how about this gourmet kitchen with 6 burner Viking gas range, pot filler and butcher block island...very nice! This kitchen is so large there is also room for a window seat and small work space too.
The living room keeps with the bright and cherry theme with yellow walls, blue furnishings and I especially like the pickled pine fireplace surround.
Soft colors and textiles are found in this dreamy retreat and bath. The decor beautifully blends days gone by with touches of today.
Ideal for entertaining, the private backyard features a patio and fire pit that is bordered by beautiful landscaping and mature trees.
Back to the front porch; I could swing the day away with not a care in the world...
How about this home...does it strike your fancy?
Located at 214 East 38th Street in Savannah, Georgia, it could be yours for $449,999.

Wow! What a great old house. My heart is still in historic houses. I redid two of them. I love all the nooks and crannies and little oddities those older homes have. This one is beauty. Don't you love all the picture molding frame around the perimeter of the rooms? Good find, Cindy. xo Diana
