It was Monday evening when the Mister called for me, "Hurry, come see!"
I headed into the kitchen and was amazed by the beautiful sunset view.
Captivating, amazing, a glorious sight to behold.
The sunset view changes second by second and quickly fades,
so I fetched my camera and headed out onto the front porch to snap a few pictures.
Pretty, but the best is yet to come.
My view is limited, so I knew if the sunset was gorgeous through my lens, it would be even more spectacular elsewhere. Our daughter lives just a few minutes down the road and her home sits on a hill. The views from her kitchen window are always a feast for the eyes, so I gave her a call to peek outside and catch the view.
She took this picture with her phone.
Our son is a photographer. He lives across town and it wasn't long after that he posted a sunset view he had taken.
The same sunset,
taken about the same time,
from three different locations.
G L O R I O U S!
"The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands."
Psalm 19:1
The next evening as I headed into the kitchen to wash a few dishes I was awestruck again!
This time by the moon.
If you look closely there is a star above the moon and also an airplane.
"God made two great lights-the greater light to govern the day and the lesser light to govern the night. He also made the stars. God set them in the vault of the sky to give light on the earth, to govern the day and the night, and to separate light from darkness..."
Genesis 1: 16-18
Creation brings such comfort, especially when life and things happening around the world can cause us such trouble and worry. It's such a comfort knowing that the creator of the universe knows each of us by name and loves us so much.
The moon, the faithful witness in the sky. A reminder that God is always available; just pray.
What a gorgeous series of photos. You surely captured that sunset and the pretty moon.
ReplyDeleteCindy,
ReplyDeleteHow precious that you and your children were able to capture the same sunset, dear friend!!!
I'm awestruck at the photo of the moon!!!
I was walking past my patio doors a few nights ago and stopped in my tracks when I saw that same moon!!! Now, even more so, 'cause it made me realize although we are many miles away,
we share the same sunrises, sunsets, moons and God!!!
I, too, am thankful!!!
Fondly,
Pat
Lovely shots from all views!
ReplyDeleteJust pray. I love this and definitely give thanks for such glory.
ReplyDeleteSo beautifully captivated!
ReplyDeleteYou gave me chills
ReplyDeleteThen made me smile
Have a beautiful day Cindy

Only our Lord could give us things that beautiful - the sunset and the moon. Great photos.
ReplyDeleteJudy
The sky was just beautiful Cindy, thank you for sharing those images with us. Glad your hubby brought it to your attention, would have been a shame to miss something like that. Praise God for out eyes that we may see his glorious creation!
ReplyDeleteThis was very encouraging to me! I have often gained much comfort by looking up at the moon at night. It is always up there even when we cannot see it. God is always present too and He doesn't change just because we cannot "see" Him at times. Your photos are beautiful. And how sweet to have your children close by that you all were able to take pictures of the same sunset. :)
