Toile in the Guest Room

Company was coming and I was on a mission to free up some extra closet and drawer space in the guest rooms.  The upstairs guest room got a major redo last summer, going from dark brown walls to light walls and new white bedding too; it looks so much better now.

When redoing this room I had planned on reupholstering the vanity stool, but I forgot about it.   We don't use this room unless company is coming and when cleaning the house it would briefly come to mind again, but I would move on to the next room to clean.  I guess it was a case of out of sight, out of mind.

Here's a glimpse of how the guest room looked before:

And this is what it looks like now:

This is the vanity stool, with old and worn fabric needing to be replaced. 

While freeing up space in the closet I came across some remnant fabric that I used to make drapes for the great room and that's when it hit me.  This fabric would be perfect for the vanity stool, so I got busy.

This old fabric is so ugly!

There were two different fabrics on the stool and lots of rusty tacks to remove.

The new fabric is Kravet Guinevere Festival Toile with a French farmhouse pattern that will go great in this guest room.

All done and it makes such a difference.

It looks much better, don't you think?

I finally found a vanity stool for the guest bath, can't wait to share it with you.
