As we pull down box upon box of Christmas decorations,
reading each label to group them by room,
there is a bit of excitement as I see the one marked "Dining Room".
The box isn't full,
no sentimental decorations,
nothing extraordinary.
Even so, the dining room is one of my favorite rooms to decorate for Christmas.
It must be the shimmer of night,
my reason for loving to decorate this room.
I do love sparkly things,
use lots of candles,
the chandelier is crystal,
so at night when the candles are lit,
and the chandy has been dimmed,
EVERYTHING
sparkles!
So pretty at night,
but for now here's Christmas in the dining room during the daytime...
