I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving, we sure did.
Thanksgiving and Christmas, this is the best time of year isn't it!
Family and friends gather.
The food is GREAT.
It's a time of remembering, giving thanks, celebrating, and everyone is in a good mood!
When out shopping for Thanksgiving dinner there were way more smiles than normal,
thank-you and you're-welcome were heard often,
and the acts of kindness so noticeable!
This IS the best time of year!
Before Christmas decorations fill the house I wanted to share the tiny touch of Fall here in the kitchen.
We weren't sure if this hutch would still have a home once the new kitchen was finished...it does!
In place but still waiting to be filled...
In place but still waiting to be filled...
A little vignette with a primitive touch...
It's simple.
A crow,
pinecones and acorns,
fall flowers, leaves, and berries,
with a couple of brass candlesticks...
When my husband and I married his mother gave us a few pieces of a dish pattern that I fell in love with. While out antiquing we keep our eyes open in hopes of adding pieces here and there with the hopes of one day having enough pieces for place settings so I can use them for supper and when guests are over. The pattern is California Provincial by Metlox-Poppytrail and they are kept in the maple cupboard in the keeping room.
This cupboard looks totally different now and has been filled with ironstone and pewter, you can see more about it here, The Pine Cupboard...
This is the weekend most folks hit the malls,
will you be out shopping or home decorating for Christmas?

Lovely Thanksgiving vignette! I'm all done decorating since our Thanksgiving was in Oct (Canada) but haven't done one bit of shopping. Guess I better get out there!
ReplyDeleteLooks great! Made it through Thanksgiving, but not looking forward to Christmas. Too many expectations that I can't meet, so I gave up long ago.
ReplyDeleteLoving your decor and how you are putting everything together in your lovely space. Another Canadian checking in with you today as well,,,we celebrated Thanksgiving in October....fresh snow on the ground and cold temperatures here makes for a great day to get the decorating done for the Christmas season.
ReplyDeleteYour dining room is so elegant. And your vignette just the right touch!

Everything looks beautiful Cindy!! I love your chippy white hutch...can't wait to see how you fill it!
ReplyDeleteDecorating for me this weekend :-)
Very snazzy and sophisticated!
ReplyDeleteLove your table display. Tell us more about the raven, wood?, and those acorns! After 2 solid days in the kitchen my daughter dragged me out for Black Friday while daddy watched the wee ones. 9 hours! Oh my, never in my life and was the most fun I've had in years laughing, drinking coffee...oh, and we shopped some too. ;-) Pamela
ReplyDeleteThe acorns were purchased from Marshalls a few years ago and appear to be made of leaves and small peach pits glued on a styrofoam form. The crow is made of resin.
DeleteYour spaces are turning out just beautifully, Cindy. I love the glass table and its pretty legs. The hutch is the perfect spot to decorate for every season or just leave it as is for awhile. I know you've had to endure a lot through that construction process but it sure is pretty!
ReplyDeleteVisiting from Wow Us Wednesday. Now following your beautiful blog.
