I Can't Help Myself!

Spring isn't officially here, but I can't help myself...
I have the fever!

The daffodils are blooming...

The leaves on the maple trees are ready to burst...

And the birds are in abundance!
When the feeders are full I just can't help myself, I have to get closer...

The Black Capped Chickadee...

Female Downy Woodpecker...

and the Doves, I love to hear their song...

The American Robin...

Look at those eyes (spooky)...

Tufted Titmouse...

The female Purple Finch.
Similar to the House Finch but this bird has prominent white eyebrows and is usually only seen in the Carolina's during the winter months...

Here are a few of their songs for you to enjoy...

The Tufted Titmouse...

Black Capped Chicadee, one of my favorites with songs so sweet..

When the feeder is covered in birds, I just can't help myself, it's so much fun watching them!
Do you have the fever too?

The End...

Hope you'll join us for Amaze Me Monday!

  3. It's absolutely gorgeous here today...wish we had months of this! Sadly, Texas has brutal summers and I hate the heat. Oh well.....

Your photos are beautiful! Very peaceful watching the birds....

  4. I do! I too have been enjoying the birdsong in the garden. the Doves, Tufted Titmouse, Cardinals, Blue Jays, Mockingbirds, House Sparrows and Crows! Now the Crows are rather annoying... chasing and bothering the Hawks. The fresh Spring green leaves coming in....

  5. Beautiful post - I love the birds and hearing them sing in the morning or fussing at me to hurry and fill up their feeders.
Love my hummers also. IF I am running late my Border Collie will not let me alone until I put on my garden shoes and go out in my nightgown and fed the birds. I haven't even had my coffee yet LOL Waldo likes to keep a schedule. Your pictures are beautiful of the birds. Happy Spring.

  6. I'm with you, Cindy - just can't help myself. I keep binoculars upstairs and down, and take them outside with me when I sit during warm months so I can watch, listen and identify the birds. We have all of the birds you've pictured (great shots!), including the purple house finches here in WV, too. I keep this book handy also - it's my favorite "Bird Songs: 250 North American Birds in Song. It's fantastic, with pictures, Cornell audio of the actual sounds, and descriptions of the various birds. But what we don't have yet are the daffodil blooms, but seeing yours brings a smile to my face. Enjoy your weekend! http://www.amazon.com/Bird-Songs-North-American-Birds-ebook/dp/B003JH8WN8/ref=sr_1_4?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1394756738&sr=1-4&keywords=north+american+birds

  8. Great captures! We finally broke down and got feeders, to try to encourage the birds. Problem is, when I open the patio door to try to get photos, I scare them all away! Phooey!

  9. Bird's eyes always look spooky to me. Kind of like a dinosaur! Very pretty photos, and yes, I have the fever too! It's going to be 70° here today, and I'm riding my bicycle downtown to the Arts Festival. It doesn't get any better!

  19. love the little birds, especially the woodpeckers, they have always amazed me.
We are in Staunton Va. for a few days on our way to Monterey Va in the HIghlands to take in the maple syrup festival and it's snowing like crazy. Monterey is considered Virginia's little Switzerland and it looks like it today. Thank you for visiting my blog today and leaving a sweet comment.
