Backyard Wild

It was just a dusting of snow.
A thin blanket covering the front yard,
where all was calm...
 all was peaceful...

The back deck too,
covered in a thin blanket.
The sun breaking through the clouds,
and things were getting wild...

A feeding frenzy ensued,

a backyard wild,

birds of all kinds began darting in and out...

Five here, do you see them?

Still a little snow falling,
all puffed up and trying to stay warm...

It is a joy watching the birds coming quickly
and going just the same...

Watching the Chickadee's take one seed at a time,
then darting off to a close by branch to crack the seed open,
and darting back again for just one more...

Sweet songs,
beautiful birds...

This little fella had no tail feathers...

I see you...do you see me?...

O Lord my God, You are very great...
He sends forth springs in the valleys;
They flow between the mountains;
They give drink to every beast of the field...
the birds of the heavens dwell;
They lift up their voices among the branches.
Psalm 1: 1-12

  1. Gorgeous birdies! Nothing quite as pretty as the cardinals, especially against the snow. You are doing a great job with new camera, friend :)

  3. Your birds are so lovely. It is so nice to see and hear birds singing - ENJOY! Your snow looks wonderful - winter. But I am so very ready for spring to come. I know I shouldn't wish for time to pass and I am not - I am just wishing spring would come a little early this year. Enjoy your birds!

  5. Thank you for feeding the birds--we are "iced in." It is beautiful but we are supposed to get strong winds tomorrow which will probably mean falling tree branches and power outages--enjoyed your photos and scripture!

  6. Cindy your yard looks so pretty covered in a thin blanket of white! We always feed our feathered friends too...the hubby made sure their feeders were full today because we're expecting about a foot of snow tomorrow and even more over the weekend!

  8. I love this! How lucky you were to have so many feathered friends snacking and letting you get great photos of them. I rarely see so many cardinals at one time.

  14. Hi Cindy,
    Beautiful photos! I wonder what happened to that poor bird with no tail feathers? Have you seen a cat running around with red feathers hanging out of its mouth? Just kidding, at least I hope so.
    Take care,
    Gina
