Been busy getting everything ready for Christmas?
Decorating your house,
planning for that party,
making your list and counting it twice?
Could you use a little R&R,
a "Calgon~take me away" moment,
just a few minutes to catch your breath?
Well grab a cup of coffee, put your feet up,
and tour this beautiful home located in the Outer Banks.
The name sure fits, it's
Breath of Heaven!
The girls in our family headed out to celebrate
80th birthdays,
surviving cancer,
and just having a fun time together in Duck, N.C.
The weather was perfect...
Blue skies,
beautiful scenery,
and soooo relaxing...
Just as you enter the three level home is the stair case leading to the highest level,
but we won't go up just yet!
It's a beach house,
full of sparkle and vintage touches...
Just past the entry is a lounge,
with music,
television,
and sweet scripture to calm the soul...
To the left and right of the entry are bedrooms.
Each bed lined with clean towels
and
a gift from my cousin Sheila.
(If you go anywhere with Shelia, you will receive a gift. Such a sweetie!)
The linens were so plush and comfortable.
This home was full of extra nice touches throughout.
Large comfy chairs just calling for us to grab a book and come curl up...
are you relaxed yet?
It truly is a beautiful place, just as this pillow states...
This was my room...
Heading down the stairs to the lowest level is a game room and a few other guest rooms.
A vintage picture of bathing beauties hangs just above the stairs...
The game room
was the "Surprise" birthday party holding station.
Just across from this area was a mini kitchen.
A couple of guest rooms on this level were decorated with kids in mind;
fun, fresh, and bright.
Heading up to the third floor...
We were told that the owner says this is
HER
knight in shining armor!
Her earthly knight that is,
the cross represents her true King...
the God of Heaven!
Just as you top the stairs is the dining room.
Did I mention there are extra special details in this home?
Like this scripture painted above the dining room chandelier.
"Do not forget to entertain strangers,
for by so doing some people have entertained angels without knowing it."
Hebrews 13:2
The huge kitchen with tons of prep space and seating.
A modern twist with vintage touches like the piece above the window.
The great room is where we spent most of our time.
In the blue is my Aunt.
She's just undergone surgery to remove cancer from her lung and it was SUCCESSFUL! We are so thankful! We'll be throwing her a "surprise" 80th birthday party while we are here.
In the pink is my sweet momma!
She's had her own battle to fight with breast cancer and so far things are looking great! We are soooo thankful! There is one hot-spot still being watched which will hopefully prove to be gone in the next scan which is scheduled in January.
Pray please...thank you!
More special touches are seen as we head down the hall to one of the bedrooms,
a wall painting of a place in Italy that the owner visited with her father.
My aunt stayed in this room.
Vintage touches and a bit of fun...
See the pillow? So cute...
There were EIGHT bedrooms
and
SEVEN and a half bathrooms
with
wrap around porches with beautiful views.
Each bedroom was so nice
and some even had fireplaces!
HAPPY 80TH BIRTHDAY AUNT JANIE!
(Isn't she the cutest thing in her birthday glasses!)
When us girls get together we mostly just
hang out in our sweat pants.
No makeup, no fancy dress, no running here and there.
We just visit with each other,
watch movies,
eat, laugh, relax,
and enjoy our time together!
BUT...
every now and again we do spiffy up just enough to do a little shopping!
A beautiful home,
at the beach,
spending time with the family,
having such a GREAT time...
but all good things come to an end...shucks!
I mean, who wants to leave a place with views like these...
Hope you enjoyed the tour.
Please leave a comment so I'll know you did!
Blessings,
Cindy

Oh my, Cindy! That place is stunning - obviously meant to be shared such as you did with you & yours. Two of my sisters vacationed in Outer Banks for years, together with their families of small children, now each with their separate, adult & growing families. And I love making an 80th birthday such a bash - we did that for my mom, and it is unforgettable. Health and healing grows in leaps and bounds when strengthened with family ties - I believe that. What a respite for your mom and aunt!
ReplyDeleteWow! That home (and the view) is stunning!! What a fun time it looks like you had. I am crushing on that teal room. Gor-ge-ous!!!
