Hurried.
A million things to do.
Scrambling to find my keys,
to unlock the garage,
to get the food,
to feed the fish in the pond.
Then I notice,
I slow down,
and enjoy...
A sweet little girl and her bird.
Surrounded by fallen leaves in shades of yellow, brown, red, and orange.
Just in front of her,
where all else has gone to sleep for the winter,
a single yellow Lantana.
New growth,
bright,
reaching towards the sky,
as though it is the beginning of Spring.
Rounding the corner to the courtyard,
something so tiny it should have been missed,
and trampled underfoot,
catches my eye.
Two tiny trees,
taking root among the gravel,
and
a lichen covered twig.
Can you see them?
Two tiny trees.
One behind the other.
The second even tinier than the first.
A small lichen covered twig.
So interesting when taking the time to notice...
The courtyard urn is full of Pansies.
Their sweet faces so bright and cheerful.
They lift our spirits,
carrying us from the dormant months of Fall and Winter,
all the way to Springtime.
Enjoying a few indoors.
Pansies make the sunlit room even brighter...
Hope you have a slow a restful weekend full of beautiful things you enjoy!
Hop back over for AMAZE ME MONDAY, link goes up Sunday afternoon at 5!

What beautiful photos Cindy and I love the little girl....also Lantana.
ReplyDeleteLike the old adage: take time to smell the roses, we must stop and look around us. Or we will miss the beauty in the blink of an eye.

Special catches, indeed! Love that little girl!
ReplyDeleteBy the way, I noticed you had posted to the Google forum about blog posts showing up late. (which they said was fixed and it isn't as far as I'm concerned) Holler at me if you are still having issues and I'll tell you what I've been having to do.
Cindy...that little evergreen growing in the rocks reminds me of the Charlie Brown Christmas Tree!! It doesn't take a lot to be beautiful. And it doesn't take a lot of effort to look around!! Thank you for such a sweet post!

Hi Cindy,
ReplyDeleteDont' you just love all those lovely lil delights that the Lord puts in our paths..........I think they are there all the time, but sometimes we just get too
busy to notice...........so a good admonition to slow down our pace and lavish our souls with gifts from heaven.
Hope you are doing well. We just got back from Asheville on Wed. night............had a blast with our girl. She is arriving tonight and staying with
Scott and Megan, then they are all coming over here for a birthday celebration for Megan, then she has to work for 3 days at her old job, the
real reason for her being here. She is trying to keep her tech liscense, as she is not having much luck finding a job in Mammography right now,
but think one will come along when the Lord is ready.
You have a lovely Thanksgiving if I don't talk to you before then.
Love and Blessings, Nellie

ReplyDeleteYour photography is amazing! Saturday was gorgeous here, hope it was the same for you.
ReplyDeleteI loved this! So adorable, almost like Charlie Brown's Christmas tree! Your pansies are beautiful too. I love your home!! Blessed Thanksgiving!
ReplyDeleteThe older I get, the more I seem to let God slow me down and open my eyes... and I love those sweet surprises and blessings he provides. I see you do, too! Your little girl statuary is delightful -- especially surrounded by Fall leaves.
