We had some friends over for dessert and coffee the other night and as we were standing on the front porch saying our goodbyes I happened to look up and noticed something on top of one of the columns. What is that?!
Once we finished our good-byes I grabbed my camera and headed upstairs to my bedroom window for a closer look…
They are feathers! This bird has found a spot to sleep for the night...
We have been checking every night since and she keeps showing up! Interesting spot for a bird to choose to sleep, who-da' thunk it?
I've often wondered where birds that aren't nesting sleep for the night, here is an interesting article if you're interested...Birds At Night.

That sweet bird led your readers to a very interesting story.

All by it's little lonesome, facing the corner. Hmmm, kinda sad if you think about it.
ReplyDeleteThe bird knew he would be welcomed in your home!
ReplyDeleteI believe that is a Carolina wren. We have one that frequently sleeps on top of our columns as well. Sometimes we see a pair sleeping side by side, sometimes they sleep on separate columns and sometimes only one shows up.
