Why am I drawn to these things?
While many homes are being embellished with pretties from Pottery Barn, Restoration Hardware and the like, I am drawn to those things my Granny would have loved! Oh well, when I saw these two hand painted antique porcelain switch covers at the antique mall, I had to get them.
I’m replacing these brass switch plate covers with
this one in the downstairs guest bedroom…
and this one in the hallway.
Old fashioned, but pretty aren’t they!
Love your sweet comments, sure hope you’ll leave one!
Blessings,
Cindy
Hope you'll hop on over for AMAZE ME MONDAY!

I feel the same way Cindy!
ReplyDeleteLove those switch covers~they are very romantic looking.
I used to love buying items for décor at stores, but now I love finding used treasures at garage sales, flea markets etc.
Its so much fun and many items are truly beautiful!
Have a great weekend Cindy!!
All my heart,
Deborah xoxo
No way old-fashioned for me, I say, 'classics'. Follow your heart Cindy, you've done wonderful so far in your home choosing to put what you love! I too used to be in that 'catalog crowd' but like many, I too have gone to the 'vintage side' and scour thrift and antique stores when I can. :-)
ReplyDeleteThose switch covers are so pretty, Cindy. We had some in a turn of the century house that I think might have been handpainted by the owner. They were pretty but the ones you have here are gorgeous- xo Diana
ReplyDeleteMaking me miss mine. When we sold our last home, those were forgotten on the walls of the master suite. I regret leaving them there....
ReplyDeleteSo delicate and beautiful.
Hugs, Gee
I love them! Reminds me of something my own grandmother would have had.
ReplyDeleteHi, Cindy! They're lovely. I can see why you're drawn to them. They just seem to bring back memories. :)
ReplyDeleteYour taste in décor is charming.
ReplyDeleteLove those switch covers! I would rather have those than the brass ones any day. I like finding treasures.
ReplyDeleteMary
funny, i ask myself those same questions. i have porcelin switch plate covers scattered throughout our home but yours are prettier. love them. suzi
ReplyDeleteI love porcelin switch plate covers, too. These are beautiful!!
ReplyDeleteCindy,
ReplyDeleteWe must be kindred spirits for sure. I love everything about them...and feel the same way about old stuff! I sometimes wish I would have been born in a different era. I guess if I would have, these things wouldn't seem quite so special would they?
So sweet Cindy:) I like a little vintage too!
ReplyDeleteIf I'd found those switchplate covers, I would have gotten them and they'd be installed somewhere in my house! They're gorgeous!
ReplyDeletelove this post and love your blog. I've added you to my blog-roll so I don't miss a post.
ReplyDeleteI love them! I have 2 that are made of pottery that I got many years ago. They always get admired. I will be at Amaze Me! XO, Pinky
ReplyDeleteI've never seen those before. I'm going to be on the lookout for them next time I go antique shopping.
ReplyDeleteThey are so pretty. In France, they changed a few electrical "norms" as they always do and so it's very difficult to install those old switch.
ReplyDeletePeople make fun of just how picky I am around the house but like they say details are everything !!!! Have a wonderful weekend
ReplyDeleteThey are so lovely-love dee x
ReplyDeleteI love details; like in our cloths, the accessories are the best. We had these pretty electrical outlets in our girls's feminine rooms in our past home. Thaks for the sweet and kind comment. Enjoy your weekend.
