SWEETGRASS BASKETS

Handmade Sweetgrass baskets are a staple if you live in the Charleston, SC area.

We found these beautiful baskets, full of spring blooms and greenery, adorning the entries of historic homes while touring in city of Georgetown a few months ago...

Such a beautiful way to welcome guests to your home...

Well, guess what I've been up to?

I have two baskets,
some silk flowers,
greenery,
and

my sweet little helper Ellie-Mae...

Can't wait to show you how they turn out!

Here's the link if you would like to tour these beautiful historic homes

Hope you are having a great week...
Blessings,
Cindy

  12. I love these Cindy, and I can't wait to see what you do with yours. My sister lived in Charleston for years, and we used to see the basket ladies selling them on Broad Street and along Meeting Street back in the day. I love the shape of the one you found. it is darling!

I can't put anything on our front door right now. We are having major work done, and it would end up covered in mortar dust. I blogged about it and have just gotten back into town after escaptng for a few days. I will head back out after the weekend. I have to get away when they are making this big of a mess. It will be great when the finish, but until then, YIKES. This is on our residence, and not the St. A house which is where I escape. ;-)

    XO,

    Sheila
