I thought I would share the living room with you today.
This room has been furnished with family heirlooms and pieces collected over time.
Waverly fabrics were used for the window treatments, the camel back sofa, and also to reupholster Granny's chair which happens to be our kitty Jet's favorite spot to perch.
The wall clock and table lamp are pieces from my husband's family.
The corner shelf and side table were purchased at auction.

The Damask sofa was also purchased at auction a few years ago
and the pewter tea set and Duncan Phyfe table were consignment finds.

and this sofa happens to be Bella's favorite spot to nap.
The two-tier table was Granny's and though these particular figurines weren't hers, they do remind me of her, she loved occupied Japan figurines.
The piano is chock-full of family photos.
I got my love for figurines from my Granny and there is one in this cabinet that is very dear to my heart.
This figurine is my favorite of all.
Since a very little girl I have admired this piece,
as it sat prominently in Granny's hutch for all my childhood years,
and she knew how much I adored it.
She wrote To Cindy, From Granny on the bottom
to ensure that one day it would be mine.

I know that Waverly pattern so well....I had some valances made from that fabric about 20 years ago...when that fabric first came out...I have since gone away from that fabric style, but now it is coming back!!...how things come full circle....I so loved it! I also had 2 other complimentary fabrics to that design...i think I still have one pillow in that fabric....a flamestitch...

ReplyDeleteYou are quite the collector. How nice that you can display it so lovely. Cute fur babies.
ReplyDeleteHi Cindy,
ReplyDeletewow, you have lots of pretty antiques, and so nice so many things were passed on thru the family. That is such a nice thing.......I lived with a lot of antiques growing up, so some of these look very familiar to me.
Lovely southern traditional living room. Like that your damask sofa has one big cushion rather than two, that looks so much nicer.....Your window treatment is beautiful too. Beautiful fabrics and beautifully accessorized.
Hope you have a nice weekend hon,
Blessings, Nellie
Beautiful room, but it's way too fancy for me... I'd break something for sure! (and if I didn't, my grandkids certainly would)

HI Cindy! Your living room is so beautiful! I love your Gone With the Wind lamp and that chair by the window - the fabric on it is gorgeous! You have so many pretty pieces of furniture and two cute little fuzzy faces.
ReplyDeletebe a sweetie,
Shelia :)
So pretty and classic! I love your antiques!
ReplyDeleteCindy, your living room is very pretty and and cozy with all the special family photos and comfortable looking furniture. Your granny and my granny must have been a lot alike. Mine was a collector of many things but her figurines were probably the largest collection she had. Her house contained many curio cabinets filled with pretty things. I was fortunate enough to receive some of her items before she passed away last May. Your favorite figurine is special and I am sure it means a lot to you that she wrote those words on the bottom. Your wood floors are beautiful and make me a little envious. We have carpet and tile but we are thinking about replacing the old carpet with wood. I like the shine and clean look of yours. Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteLovely room, thank you for inviting us in. Patty/BC

Hello Cindy~
ReplyDeleteSo warm and welcoming with touches of elegance. Love the wooden floors, and the nod to childhood with sweet dolls here and there. We have the same sofa, although ours is a deeper slate blue and does not have the skirt- instead you see the handsome Marlborough legs. Thanks for sharing your lovely living room. I am still not able to walk (rolling around in an office chair! ugh!) and having to do PT for my leg. I will try to get your package mailed this week, girlfriend!
HAPPY St Patty's Day,
Shawn

Hi Cindy! I am visiting from Time Travel Thursday and so enjoyed my tour of your living room. I believe that a room should be welcoming and inviting and yours is just that. I love that you have pieces of furniture that have not been "chalk painted". I love the look of old wood and hate to see so munch of it covered up. I am your newest follower. Please stop by Still Woods Farmhouse for a visit soon!
ReplyDeleteCindy, you have a beautiful home! Can't wait to see how you finish the secretary. I have one very similar, but it has been decoupaged. Not sure how to remove that. Thanks again for sharing your home with us.
