Sharing my heart with you…
In recently spending time with someone very dear to me, I became burdened as this amazing person shared how down and inadequate they feel. The more I listened, the more clear it became that their perception was so skewed from the truth of who and what they truly are.
It brought me back to my younger days and reminded me that being older has advantages. Better discernment and the determination to hold tight to the joys of this life.
If we are honest, most of us would say there are days we feel down and inadequate, which led me to wonder…
On any given day, what do YOU hear? What is that small inner voice so very loudly saying to you?
What have you carried with you since childhood?
What have you carried with you since childhood?
Do YOU hear that you are too TALL ~ short ~ Ugly ~ FAT ~ skinny ~ STUPID ~
a nerd ~ LANKY ~ 4-eyes ~ LOOSER?
Have you been told to get away ~ that you’re not wanted …
Do you hear that NOBODY likes you ~ EVERYBODY likes them…
NOBODY loves YOU ~ EVERYBODY loves them…
Do you hear that your house isn’t nice enough ~ big enough ~ is in the wrong neighborhood…
Do you hear that it is too late for you ~ You’ll NEVER amount to anything ~ You’ll NEVER marry?
Could it be lies dear friend? A choice to hold tight to things that are not true and do not define who you truly are?
We all have room for growth. Room for growth does not = unworthy!
We all have room for growth. Room for growth does not = unworthy!
It is 2013 ~ a NEW year. The perfect time for a new beginning…
The perfect time to choose a different path…
The perfect time to choose truth…
This is a must see. Something you can share.
It is short, so I hope you will take a minute to watch it.
YOU are a TREASURE!

Blessings sweet friend,
Hi, Cindy! What a wonderful post. Thank you so much for including the link to this Oprah episode. I truly enjoyed being introduced to Nick and hearing his story! Thank you!
ReplyDeleteThose voice tell me everything you mentioned, except tall, skinny and lanky. I hope to shut them up one day!
ReplyDeleteBlessing for a most happy New Year... Your posting was a delightful read... inspirational and certainly a toast to many new beginnings... Thank You for sharing the link...Enjoy your day !!!!
ReplyDeleteGreat, heartfelt post! And I love the verse the end! Thanks for sharing your heart!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing this encouraging post, Cindy. I have been a fan of Nick's for several years and am so in awe of his faith and courage. I have read his book and have watched his sermons on Tv. As a person with health problems of my own, although not nearly as serious as his, his attitude makes me want to "keep my mouth shut" as Oprah said. Hope you are having a nice day. Finally, snow is predicted for our area this afternoon! Can't wait! Shannon
ReplyDeleteThis is such an important post. We all have choices to make but sometimes we just let ourselves slide and then the choices are made for us. I'm taking a Live your Dream life workshop right now and it really opens your eyes to the possibilities. I am so very blessed...but I have challenges in my life just like everyone else. Sweet hugs!
ReplyDeleteI love new beginnings.
