we have overnight guests who may need to get up in the middle of the night...
and
especially when we hear those occasional scary bumps in the night...
These are a few of the reasons why I have little lamps here and there through out the house!
This little silver lamp sits on top of our television in the den. I found it at an antique store and thought it was a deal for only $13!
There is a little candlelight behind Mr. Rooster who's home is in the kitchen.
On a desk in one of the downstairs hallways sits this little blue & white lamp. A $2 garage sale purchase...I was h-a-p-p-y to find it!
This lamp adds a nice touch to the counter in the downstairs guest bathroom.
This candle light adds a warm glow on this bookshelf. It is only a 6 watt bulb but adds just the right amount of light...in the middle of the night!
And this little lamp has a home on the hall tree in the front foyer, so anytime we head downstairs there is a soft glow to light our way.
We don't ever have to turn on a light and we like it that way!
So, where in your home do you have a little lamp love?!

Cindy you have such a pretty collection of little accent lamps. I am just like you and have little lamps all around I think it is much more cozier then turning on bright lights.
ReplyDeleteSo pretty and every photo has a lovely warmth about it. Makes me want to step into the photo.

cindy I really enjoyed looking at your collection of little lamps, It's so true they make everything feel more cozy, I really like the one that look's like a teapot.Beautiful as usually.
ReplyDeleteCindy, I love lamps and lamp light. As soon as it starts getting dark I go around and turn them all on. The two in the kitchen stay on all the time except when we go to bed. I hate overhead lights.
ReplyDeleteYour little lamps are so pretty Cindy. I have them throughout my house too and love the little bit of light that comes from them. I really hate having dark corners. :)
ReplyDeleteHave a great day.

Love all your lamps, I also have lamps throughout the house that I leave on..I love lamplight and I like the light it gives us during the night...I use low wattage bulbs for the lamps I leave on all night...Enjoyed my visit, see ya again..
ReplyDeleteCindy, these are all so pretty! I have little lamps all over, as well...the powder bath, the kitchen counter, the hallways, the foyer. It's just nice to have the path lit, wherever you go. I also just love the glow in the evenings.
ReplyDeleteI can see I need a little lamp love myself. I think I'll keep my eyes open at the thrift store for some little lamps. Yours are adorable. Patty
ReplyDeleteI love all of your little lamps Cindy and have tons at my house too! So many that my friends tease me a little bit. :-) I just love that soft light though and can't get enough!

I love all your needlework Cindy! The silver lamp is really pretty, and you got the blue and white one for a steal. I need to shop where everyone else online does because we don't see prices like that on good stuff. Nice to see a new post, and hope you're having a great week!
ReplyDeleteToo often I get up in the middle of the night, stumbling around until I find a lamp or light switch, I like your idea of leaving a small light on. Loving the lamp in the front foyer. Diane
ReplyDeleteYou remind me of my friend Corinne. She has pretty little lamps around her home, and she turns them on every evening. I love yours, Cindy. They are all so pretty!
ReplyDeleteWe have too many of these can lights around here. I wish we didn't, and had more of the romantic little lamps.

ReplyDeleteYou have such a lovely collection of lamps. Personally, they make a house feel homey and comfortable :)
ReplyDeleteHi Cindy, I'm a new follower and also share your feeling about having lamps to guide our way at night. In fact, I love lamps and really believe if anyone can count all their lamps on one hand...it's time to go shopping for more lamps! I love bringing an old lamp back to life!
ReplyDeleteGreat post. Hope you will drop by for a visit.
Hello Cindy,
ReplyDeleteI came upon your blog today and I love your style. I have gotten on the blog-reading bandwagon lately and I must tell you that the posts of your home stands out among so many others. First of all, your house looks like someone actually lives in it...I mean that as a total compliment! Many other homes are truly beautiful but yours actually looks like "home" and not a model that you just admire from a distance. It is so comfortable and cozy and your style is a lot like what I have in my own home. It crosses over the boundaries of traditional, Victorian and cottage coziness (that's my description :). Like you, small little love lamps are also something I collect and am drawn to! And roosters as well! I'm glad I found you and looking forward to following you.
