The den is my favorite room in our home.
With paneling that most would think dates the room, I just don't have the heart to remove or paint it. It is warm and cozy, and I've grown to like it.
Years ago I found this chest at an antique market and it just spoke to me, guess it was the drawer pulls. I use this to store our family photographs and it is FULL...
This chippy pineapple finial brings a bit of the outdoors in. I thought at first it was an acorn, but was assured by the sweet Southern lady at the antique store ... "Why no Sugar, it's a pineapple"!
The pineapple, a warm welcome and symbol of hospitality,
I hope this is how everyone feels when they are in our home...
A touch of greenery in blue and white...
I appreciate you so much my sweet friend and love hearing from you!
Blessings,
Cindy

Your den is beautiful and your photos are really just amazing!
ReplyDeleteA sweet Saturday morning to you Cindy. Love the chest with the pretty mellow wood. Don't it make you wonder what its former life was and how it was presented in its last home? I always wonder about that with antique pieces. Your display on top is so pretty. Thanks for sharing. Enjoy your weekend
ReplyDeleteCindy your photos and vignettes are just gorgeous. Love that piece too~Ha e a great weekend. Going to be a hot one.
ReplyDeleteWonderful! Great table and vignette. How did you make the last photo black and white outlined? Did you draw it?
ReplyDeleteLove that piece Cindy. What pretty photos and a gorgeous vignette.
ReplyDeleteI see that Lori asked my question...how did you do that last photo? Lovely post. The little lamp is beautiful...
ReplyDeleteGood morning Cindy! Your new table and the vignettes you created are beautiful. And, as always, so is your lovely photography.
ReplyDeleteI understand the paneling thing. I have some to. Have a lovely weekend!
Your chest is lovely and that chippy pineapple is perfect "sugar."
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful of furniture. I love the warm look of the stain. I know how you feel about your den, I feel that way about our family room. I long for nice white slip covered sofas but my well loved brown leather is so comfortable and it has held up so well. I'm in the process of prettifying it with some floral pillows. The best of both worlds. Have a blessed weekend.
ReplyDeleteHi Cindy,
ReplyDeleteLove this table top vignette. But really love that chest, my Aunt has one that is double the size and I too, absolutely love those handles,
so pretty. Hers is more of a mahogony color tho,
so neat to see it in oak. Looks great with those wonderful oak shutters behind it.
Very pretty pictures sugar..........don't you just love southern women.......I haven't heard that term in a long time, but I love it!!

ReplyDeleteBe a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
I love all things white and chippy, so of course I love your pineapple. You are very lucky to get such great light in the room with the paneling so it's still bright and sunny. Our last house was built in the 70's and the people who built it liked wood paneling enough to have it not only in the family room, but part of the kitchen as well, then they matched the wood with wood floors and the same wood trim. Who knows why they did this since there was a woodsy area right behind that house, so there was no light. Looks like you still have a great room to enjoy! Have a great Sunday!
ReplyDeleteYour den is lovely and beautiful vignette. Have a wonderful week!
ReplyDeleteGreat vignette! I love the pineapple...I saw one in porcelain as a flower base in white and loved it!, but it was to expensive, I didn't really wanted to pay $48 for it! I just love the blue and white plant pot, too. Very pretty.

ReplyDeleteHi Cindy, I say keep the paneling! It's warm and inviting and the white chippy pineapple contrast so nicely with it! I guess the finial must have spent some time outdoors. I love it! Linda

ReplyDeleteI'm a Southerner and love when ladies use the term "sugar" or "sweetie" or "sweetheart". "Precious" is either really really good or bad.
ReplyDeleteThanks , Sugar, for sharing your pineapple.
The chest & finial are beautiful! Such a pretty vignette.
ReplyDeleteThe pineapple finial looks so gorgeous on your antique chest... love the effect it creates against those greenery. Great job on this pretty vignette. Thanks for sharing with us.~Poppy

That little chest is just wonderful- I think those handles DO make it! I love using pedestals and finials on my tabletops. If this doesn't say homey, I don't know what does!
