It's always fun spending the day with a good friend,
strolling through antique shops,
and enjoying lunch at a quaint small town diner.
Such was the day when I came across my newest find, this ironstone soup tureen with ladle.
I like the size of this tureen, not too small or too large.
So often the ladle is the first to be broken and then the lid, so it's always nice when the tureen has all its pieces.
Even better is when the price is right...and it was!
My hydrangea bush is in full bloom so I picked a few to enjoy indoors. I love the range of colors on this bush; light pink, dark pink and purplish-blue...such a beautiful flower!
I added a couple sprigs from the asparagus fern for a little texture and placed the arrangement in a blue Ball jar.
My new find has a home on the cupboard in the keeping room.
Found any treasures lately?

A wonderful addition to your grouping on the cupboard in the keeping room. I'm drawn to ironstone tureens. I think I have the twin to yours. These ironstone tureens display so beautifully, and are great containers for serving or for just holding flowers or other things. Great find!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! I love Ironstone, and each piece I find I am sooo tempted to keep. {as an antique dealer, it's a constant battle} The tureens are so lovely to display, and they are so handy for food service too. I love that yours has the ladle, that is difficult to find these days.
