We are making strides!
It was a three week process to install the Brazilian cherry hardwoods and it's done!
Mr. Heart removed the existing carpet and old subfloor...
The flooring was delivered and the new subfloor installed...
The moisture barrier was laid and the wood positioned for installation...
The wood was installed and ready for the sanding and sealing...
Sanding...
Vacuuming up the dust...
Sealing...
Drying...
This process was done three times,
repeat,
repeat,
repeat!
repeat,
repeat,
repeat!
And here are the finished floors...
There was no stain applied, just several coats of the sealer
which brings out the color in Brazilian cherry.
This type of wood darkens over time,
so it will be a little while before the new catches up with the existing flooring.
Here you can see the existing and new side by side...
The dust has settled,
we are moving the furniture back into the great-room,
and the kitchen cabinetry is in the final decision stage.
There is a LOT more to do but things are moving along!
Blessings,
Cindy
